The impact of artificial intelligence technologies in the field of education is facilitating the development of new approaches across various topics, from course design to learning experiences. Interaction, personalization, and feedback-oriented learning models are becoming increasingly important in higher education. Practical trainings that focus on the use of AI-powered tools by academics are contributing to the development of new teaching practices during this transformation process.
In this framework, the CourseGPT Workshop organized by Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Educational Sciences, in collaboration with OpenAI, was held under the title "Interactive Course Design with Your AI Assistant." The workshop, designed with a practical training understanding, addressed the integration of artificial intelligence into course planning and learning processes.
The event held on Monday, November 3, in the Common Area of the Faculty of Educational Sciences began at 14:00. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Sezin Eşfer Öndünç, Dr. Zeynep Cömert, and Dr. Meltem Özmutlu. During the training, participants worked on practical examples related to the use of AI-powered assistants in course design.
Within the scope of the workshop, discussions were held on how to structure interactive lesson formats, how to develop content suitable for learning objectives, and how AI-powered assistants could enhance in-class interaction. Participants evaluated the creation of scenario-based lesson flows, the development of guidelines that support student engagement, and configurations that make learning processes more efficient.
The CourseGPT approach enabled academics to address course content in a more systematic and measurable manner. It was emphasized that AI-supported tools play a role in facilitating time management in teaching processes and enriching the learning experience. This approach contributed to the development of an understanding that places interaction at the center of educational design.
The CourseGPT Workshop conducted in line with Bahçeşehir University’s vision for practical education provided an important example of AI-supported teaching models within the Faculty of Educational Sciences. The event contributed to the dissemination of technology-based and interaction-focused educational approaches in the academic world.
